The Best Rated Digital Camera Under $1000

Although it is often difficult to get a decent fair and impartial review of all on-line, digital camera makes it particularly tricky. There is no lack of fly by night websites hawking the next largest cameras on the planet, since they invented the Polaroid Polaroid. Well, there's one thing that is hard to cheat online, and actually quite easy to find on-line, if you know where to look. This is one of consumer choice.

By the choice of consumers, I think, of course, what people are buying. We as the consumer society, vote with our dollars, and just about any product that finds favor with the masses will continue to bring to the manufacturers rich. It is very easy to find the best-selling camera, just looking at the larger online camera dealer and see what they have on their front page. Some will even have its list of the top ten, twenty or fifty cameras on the list for you. If everyone else is buying these cameras, there must be a good reason.

Here are a few select choices I found on of my favorite shopping sites. Most of them are compact cameras, as it is by far the most popular category. First of all, we have a Canon PowerShot SD1100IS digital camera. It's got a lot of resolutions, with 8MP and some nice features like image stabilization and optical zoom. It goes for about $ 150 these days. Secondly we have the Canon PowerShot SD880IS. It was a few bucks, at about $ 250, but comes with a 10MP, 4 times zoom lens, and a few other nice features.

It's not unusual to see so many Canon cameras dominate the charts, as they are the biggest seller of the camera in the world. Most cameras I've seen on the list are from Canon. If your view of the SLR, the top selling SLR I've seen the Canon Rebel XSI. For only about $ 700, including 18-55mm lens, it is a big deal.
